The Assignment
Under the general supervision of a Project Head, the candidate will be responsible for design, development, testing, and maintenance of a wide range of IT solutions aimed at improving business processes and systems to meet managerial needs and at applying technical knowledge to create effective information system applications to support Capgemini activities.
Your Profile
The candidate will have a strong technical background with extensive leadership skills. Demonstrate strong business judgment, initiative, and organizational skills. Work as lead with team members under minimal supervision. Team player and capable of coordinating development efforts with members of cross-functional teams. Create engineering documentation in accordance with organizational standards. Design, prototype, develop, implement, and debug advanced product components in a fast-paced environment. Candidate will work as a member or team lead of a diverse team of 10 to 20 highly trained and motivated engineers developing advanced training technology software products.
Candidate will have a strong technical background and demonstrated relevant experience in data processing in particular in the area of information retrieval system. Wide range of experience in commercial search engine tools and in particular in Meaning Based Computing. The MBC enables computers to understand the relationships that exist between disparate pieces of unstructured and/or structured information and perform sophisticated analysis operations with real business value, automatically and in real-time. Moreover the candidate will have experience in using an expert system approach called Concept Retrieval, the Concept Retrieval is a powerful object-oriented query language that builds an expert knowledge base on the available data text, to find any document, anywhere on a network. The candidate will be able to operate with unstructured information, and to provide prototype solutions based on Verity and/or Autonomy technologies.
Demonstrate strong business judgment, initiative, and organizational skills. Work as lead with team members under minimal supervision. Team player and capable of coordinating development efforts with members of cross-functional teams.
Education & experience
* BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline
* 10 years of relevant practical experience, including at least 5 years of recent experience in developing client-server applications, and in particular deep knowledge of the methodologies related to the application of the text retrieval technologies in the framework of Information Retrieval
* 5 years of relevant experience with Natural Language Processing
* Demonstrated project management/project leadership experience
* Personal characteristics include excellent communication and presentation skills, business confidence, ability to work independently and drive to succeed
Knowledge, skills & abilities
* Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff at all levels, with clients and software vendors
* Leadership and organizational skills
* Ability to work in a multicultural environment with respect and sensitivity for diversity
* Good presentation skills
* Fluency in spoken and written English, including the ability to write technical documents
